More Muscle

  Muscle loss could be dangerous!
When you get older you can lose muscle.
Get outside and exercise!

Why You Should Exercise

When you get older you can lose muscle.
The scientific name for muscle loss is sarcopenia.
Everyone is affected by this condition,
but it increases at different rates of speed.
Three exercise sessions a week for over twenty weeks
is enough to increase blood-flow which reduces
muscle loss.  In addition, muscle weakness has been associated with
a variety of other diseases.
For example, there appears to be a strong association
between sarcopenia due to aging and heart disease.

How You Can Exercise
A machine that prevents muscle breakdown works
less effectively on people over the age of 65
resulting in the "double whammy" effect. The new
research suggests that weight training may help
elderly people return muscle.
