COMPUTER SCIENCE


INTRO TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING*  (MTH2370)


Credit:  1/2

Prerequisites:  A in Algebra I (271) or at least a C in Academic Algebra I (272)
Meeting:  48 minutes, 3 days per cycle, full year
Open to:  Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors

The objective of this course is to learn how to program a computer using a high-level general-purpose language and to study some of the theories of computer science.  Topics covered will include but not be limited to the following:  Top-Down design, Procedures, Conditional statements, Looping controls, and Arrays.


ADVANCED PROGRAMMING I   (MTH3370)

Credit:  1/2

Prerequisites:  Completion of Intro. Computer Programming
Meeting:   48 minutes, 3 days per cycle, full year
Open to:  Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors

This course will study multi-dimensional arrays, graphics with color and sound, sequential files, random access files, sorting and searching, multiple forms, menus and dialogs.  Other more advanced programming applications are also explored.
