Students interested in designing and undertaking a serious
educational project that is not offered in the regular program of studies may
select this option. Requirements include
an independent study proposal that identifies the goal(s), rationale, method
and product, as well as a project timeline and evaluation criteria and approval
of gifted support teacher. Students will be assigned to the gifted resource
room, where they will work under the supervision of the gifted instructor
toward established goals.

Students will explore various topics from across the
curriculum using a Problem-Based Learning approach in a collaborative setting.
PHILOSOPHY SEMINAR

with active GIEPs
Students
will explore topics in philosophy through primary and secondary source
readings, examination of current issues and Socratic dialogue. Critical reading, writing and discussion
skills will be emphasized in the context of examining the some of life’s
biggest questions.
