Pottsgrove Assessment
Assessment involves the many ways in which educators determine what their students know and are able to do. Assessment can be as simple as the teacher making a mental note as to how a student responded to a particular question, or it can be as involved as examining data to develop a Individualized Education Program.
Standardized tests are also used to assess student performance and to provide diagnostic information. The two primary standardized tests used to the Pottsgrove School District are the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA), and the CTB/McGraw-Hill Terra Nova standardized tests.
Pottsgrove also uses benchmark exams, commonly referred to as 4Sight exams. 4Sight exams provide information to teachers and administrators on how well a student will perform on the PSSA tests.
