Pottsgrove High School has been my teaching home since the fall of 2020. Since the 20-21 school year, I have been teaching Academic Algebra 2 and Honors Trigonometry and Advanced Algebra (known to most as Honors Precalculus). From 2012 to 2020 I taught 8th Grade Math and Honors Geometry at Pottsgrove Middle School, and I served as the PGMS Math Department Coordinator. Prior to PGMS I had 9 years' experience teaching high school math courses ranging from Algebra 1 to Pre-Calculus in Montgomery County, Maryland. That makes over 20 years of teaching and I'm still happy to report that I love this job, and I continue to love learning new ways to challenge students every year.
I was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, just 16 miles north of Pottsgrove. After high school, I attended the University of Maryland on a field hockey scholarship and won a National Championship in 1999-Go TERPS! My husband (also a high school math teacher) and I moved to PA back in 2012 where we currently raise our family in my home town of Macungie.
As a mom of 6, I have lots of hobbies that I love, but don't have time to do. My favorite way to relax is with a good book or sitting by a campfire, preferably both at the same time. I love to learn new ways to support my own kids as well as my students through the many challenges they face. I believe my greatest strength is my passion to continue learning and my drive to grow as a person/mom/teacher.
