Virtual Programs

  • The Pottsgrove Virtual Academy is an opportunity for PGSD students to receive a virtual education while still being a part of the Pottsgrove community. While we do believe that in-person instruction is the best way for our students to receive their education, we do realize that there are circumstances in which coming into the buildings is not possible. Pottsgrove Virtual Academy is comprised of two virtual programs, EdOptions Academy and Brandywine Virtual Academy. Our primary partner for the 2022-23 school year is EdOptions Academy, but BVA is still available to students. For a better understanding of each program, please view the individual program pages using the left navigation. Our school counselors are available and happy to answer questions and discuss the challenges, limitations, and benefits of cyber education. They are a great resource, and will assist in any way they can as you make the best choice for your child.

    Enrollment Process:
    2. An administrator from Pottsgrove School District will reach out to you after receiving your pre-enrollment form to discuss your virtual options and to answer any questions you may have.

Pennsylvania's Department of Education (PDE) requires all schools to track daily attendance. For virtual programming, PDE defines attendance as evidence of access (logging in) and evidence of completion (assignments). PG Virtual Academy will operate on the same school calendar as PGSD. Daily attendance is required. To be marked present, students must complete at least one activity in at least one class every school day. Attendance will be tracked in Power School. All other attendance procedures from the Student Handbook apply.
