Mr. Todd Kelly

2018-2019 marks my 33rd year of teaching at Pottsgrove High School.  While I have gained a great deal of experience all these years, two principles of mine have never wavered: my sincere enthusiasm for the subject I teach and my strong belief that all students can learn and excel.  I have a BA in English from Albright College and a MA from Kutztown University.  At Pottsgrove I directed 46 plays and musicals over the past 30 years-- an activity I participated regularly in since 6th grade. I also serve as department chair for the English Department.  For several years, I worked for the College Board as an AP reader, grading student essays.  This experience enhanced my knowledge of the test and the skills necessary to pass this exam.  My wife Laurie and I have been married for 32 years and have three children: Justin (RIT grad Class of 2015), Brett (Princeton grad Class of 2016), and Sabrina (a sophomore at Juniata College). In March of 2013, I was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  Information regarding ALS can be found at the following website: http://www.alshf.org or watch an excellent short video: http://www.alstexas.org/understanding-als/.   Although my walking and mobility have been adversely impacted so far, I remain committed to sharing my love of learning with and providing the best educatiion possible for Pottsgrove students.
