Ms. Amanda Wright
¡Hola! I am Señora Wright, currently a Pottsgrove Middle School and High School Spanish teacher. I am excited to help you (or your child) learn Spanish! I have taught in Pottsgrove School District since August of 2005 and I enjoy it more and more each year! Prior to this position, I enjoyed the experience of a three year K-8 Spanish teaching and World Language program design position in West Philadelphia working in the School District of Philadelphia. Some of my other experiences in teaching and learning include volunteer service (tutoring, home building and community outreach) in Alabama and Kentucky, teaching English as a second language in Norristown to a diverse range of adult learners, and translating and English teaching for a landscape corporation in King of Prussia. México is my favorite travel destination (thus far!), and I look forward to returning as soon as possible! I have also enjoyed the Dominican Republic during my travels and look forward to investigating the island of Puerto Rico in the near future. El Yunque is calling me!
I look forward to being part of the process of helping all learners to open new doors to create connections, strengthen communication and develop understanding within our community and with the extended world community. Teaching our students Spanish is one facet of teaching them to develop an appreciation for the community in which they live, the global community and to develop an understanding of identity, in order that they may respect one another's gifts and fully bring their talents to the world.
