Mrs. Britton

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Britton

Originally, I grew up in Southeast Massachusetts, and I graduated with an English degree from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA. I moved here from Georgia five years ago with my family. Currently, I live in a beautiful rural area in Berks County. My teaching career began in Georgia, and I taught in the same school district for 7 years. I started as a High School English teacher, then taught Gifted at a middle school for grades 7-8, and my last position in Georgia was a Reading Intervention Teacher for grades 9-12.  Since I have been in PA, I have worked in the Owen J. Roberts school district at the high school and middle school as a LTS English teacher, Twin Valley and even subbed in the Pottsgrove District as an LTS. three years ago, I secured a permanent position at PGMS as a Language Arts Teacher for 7th grade. This school year marks my 13th year in the Teaching field. I am also presently enrolled in the Master's of Education Graduate Program at Wilkes University.

Along with my teaching attributes, I am also a proud mother of four children, have a gorgeous white lab named Sugar, and I am happily married to my husband, Chris. In my spare time, you would find me: spending time with my family, reading, running, paddleboarding ( I love the ocean), writing, and traveling. My favorite place in the world is anywhere on the coast of Maine. My favorite sound is my children laughing. The person I look up to the most is my mother. I LOVE to eat delicious food. The subject I am most interested to learn more about is farming/homesteading.  Over this past summer, I have been reading these books for pleasure: Gold Dusk Woman, The Rules of Magic, and Last Summer. I totallly encourage my students to be active readers, and enjoy watching as they flourish in their reading and writing styles. What's more, I am a music addict and love to dance. Right now, one of my favorite artists is Gregory Alan Isakov. Lastly, it is my dream to become a published author one day...
