What does the PTA do?

  • PTA brings the fun with loads of free or low-cost activities for the West community.

    • Free! Family Bingo Night (twice per school year)

    • Scholastic book fairs (three per year, including a BOGO fair in May)

    • Entertaining and engaging assemblies, like Sam Sandler and the Elmwood Park Zoo

    • Open House ice cream social

WTrunk or treat e host an annual Trunk or Treat, one of our school's favorite events. West families and the community are invited to enjoy an afternoon of trick or treating, cool games, crazy costumes (including a parade!), spooky crafts, and special guests. (Batman and a Ninja Turtle dropped in last year!)

We build up our kids through Good Citizen awardsField Day Shirts

The PTA also puts together the annual yearbook, and provides custom-designed shirts and treats for Field Day.

We support school endeavors like the Kindergarten Picnic, Back to School Night, Family Wellness Night, Grandparents’ Day, and the Annual Art Show.

Promoting and encouraging literacy and a love of reading is an important goal at Pottsgrove and we are proud to be a part of that by sponsoring the prizes for the Reading Department's 100 Book Club. Kids who read at least 100 books by the beginning of May are recognized at the annual Awards Day assembly and earn a special tee shirt (or a $5 gift card, if they choose). The top 10 readers receive an extra-special prize. Get started with a reading log today!

We show how much our staff and teachers mean to us with appreciation luncheons. We also support our staff with teacher stipends ($75 for classroom teachers, $40 for specials), as well as purchasing items for the classrooms like reading rugs, books, and supplies.

Ready to participate?  See what opportunities are available!  Got a great idea for an activity or event? We are always looking for new ideas and fun ways to engage with kids and their families, so let us know!
