Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Jessica Pierce

My name is Mrs. Pierce and this is my second year teaching at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School!

I am very excited to be working at Pottsgrove, especially since I graduated from here as well! After graduation I went to Penn State University to get my bachelor's degree in Art Education, and then went on to get my Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University.

Before coming to Lower I taught art at Pottsgrove High School, for the 2018-2019 school year, elementary art for 3 years in Prince George's County Public Schools, located outside of Washington D.C., and 6th Grade English and Science through Teach for America in South Carolina. I was fortunate enough to be awarded the Novice (0-5 years experience) Art Teacher of the Year from a pool of about 100 teachers for my former district, Prince George's County Public Schools. I was honored by not only my district but the Maryland Art Education Association at the Walter's Museum of Art in Baltimore! I am hoping to bring my love of art and teaching here to Pottsgrove to help all the students find a joy in the arts as well!

Outside of teaching, I love to create my own artwork, try different baking recipes, go hiking, and spend time with friends and family. My husband and I have two young sons, so we spend lots of time with them, as well as our 4 year old Boxer named Luna who loves to be outside and explore!

Looking forward to a great school year!
