    PBIS

Pottsgrove School District is committed to a learning environment free of bullying and harassment.  We implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), in all five schools as a preventative measure to bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

    What is PBIS?

PBIS is a research-based framework for teaching and supporting positive behaviors for ALL students.
This school-wide approach to discipline focuses on building a safe, positive environment in which all students can learn.

The benefits of implementing PBIS include:
    Fewer behavioral issues
    More instructional time
    Better attendance for student success.

How is PBIS Implemented in Pottsgrove School District?

Every school in the district follows the Falcon Four Expectations.

    Teaching Matrix

The Teaching Matrix is a detailed description of expected behaviors to be practiced in all areas of the school.  Every building has a matrix that appropriately describes the expected behaviors in their own building.

    Acknowledgement System

Acknowledging and reinforcing positive behavior is one of the best ways to encourage appropriate behavior.  Each school has a unique way of recognizing students who are following the expectations.
