Greetings!!! I am starting my 26th year of teaching...10 years at Drexel Hill Middle School for Upper Darby School District and now, 15 completed years with Pottsgrove School District. WOWEE!!!! Guess what? I still get butterflies in my stomach as the first student day approaches each year!
I am looking forward to my 3rd year as a Family and Consumer Science teacher! Previously, I taught science for 22 years (1 year was spent teaching Geography). I enjoy sharing my childhood/ adulthood hobbies in the FACS classroom. These hobbies include cooking, sewing, and gardening. Believe it or not, they are all science related, sooooo, I really have not left the science arena.
Of all the interests I have, my favorite is the time I spend with my family. Ian and Ellen Grace are my boy/girl twins. Ian will be a Senior at Boyertown Senior High School while Ellen is taking a gap year to develop her vocal/theater arts resume. Both have jobs and like the freedom having some of their own spending money. My husband and I will be married 20 years in November. Our family LOVES the beach but are equally entertained with trips to places like Hawk Mountain or the Franklin Institute or NYC.
Every year we plan something special to look forward to in the year. Our family has been saving for a trip to Hawaii to be taken in June of 2022. Ian and Ellen chose not to take a Senior Class Trip and they did not want a graduation party. I think this will be a great way to celebrate each of their graduations from high school!
I am excited to hear about your goals and plans that you have for the up and coming year! See you in the Family and Consumer Science classroom....
