Pottsgrove School District owns a fleet of over 50 buses and vans. CMD Services, Inc. maintains the fleet and manages day-to-day transportation operations.

For excessive bus delays, requests for bus stop relocation, or bus driver complaints, please contact our Director of Facilities, Mr. Casey Blankenbiller.

Bus Information

Please have your child at their bus stop 5 minutes prior to the designated pickup time.

School bus assignments will be mailed to student homes just prior to the start of the new school year. Newly registered students, after the start of school, should contact your child's building for information.

Stopfinder

Stopfinder is an all-in-one, easy-to-use mobile app that allows you to view and share your student’s transportation schedule. The app works with the school district's transportation software system, Transfinder, to provide accurate, up-to-date schedule information as quickly as possible.

The app will show the students route with a bus icon showing the current location.

Access to Student Schedules

Stopfinder is secure and only for registered users. An email invitation will be sent to the primary guardian that was provided in your child's first day packet. A separate invitation will be sent to you for every child in the household. The invitation will provide access to log in to the Stopfinder app. The primary guardian will then be able to invite users to sign up and view the student's transportation information.

How to Install the App

Our partners at Stopfinder recommend a phased roll out starting with our two smallest schools. We are doing this to ensure all families have the support they need to be able to use the app properly and ask any questions. We will be rolling out the app gradually by building, starting with our K-2 schools. On Monday, December 1st, we will make the app available to parents or students at Ringing Rocks and West Pottsgrove Elementary Schools.

Stopfinder will be available one you receive an invitation to create an account. Please DO NOT try to create an account or log in before you receive an invitation for Stopfinder in your email.

Here is the anticipated timeline when Stopfinder invitations will be sent:

Monday, December 1: Ringing Rocks & West Pottsgrove Elementary
Monday, December 8: Lower Pottsgrove Elementary
Monday, December 15: Pottsgrove Middle School
Monday, December 22: Pottsgrove High School

Bus Incident Reporting

If you have a safety concern or would like to report an incident that occurred on the bus, please contact your child’s building principal by calling the office:

The principal or designee will contact you within 24 hours or the next school day.

Parent Notifications

Parents/guardians will be contacted via Schoolmessenger for the following reasons:

Severe Lateness (more than 20 minutes)
Accident Involving a Bus
Fight (Parents/Guardians of the student involved)
Police Involvement (Parents/Guardians of students involved)
School Closings and/or Early Dismissals

*Parents/Guardians may not illegally board a school bus at any time, for any reason. Doing so will result in a $500 criminal fine.

Bus Stop Information

If you need the bus to pick up or drop off your student(s) at a different location because you moved or have a daycare/babysitting change, please share the new information with your child’s school secretary by calling them at:

*Emergency changes must be communicated to the school secretary by 12 noon on the day of transportation.

*Students in grades K-1 must have a parent, guardian, or older sibling present and visible at the designated bus stop in order for the student to be released from the bus. If there is no parent, guardian, or older sibling visible at the designated bus stop, the bus driver will complete its run and return to the bus stop. If the parent, guardian, or older sibling is still not present, the bus will return the student to the school for pick up.

Multi-Bus Assignment

A student whose parents are divorced/separated with joint custody will be assigned to bus stops near each parent’s home, assuming both parents live in the Pottsgrove School District. All other students will be assigned one (1) bus stop within the school's footprint. In the event your child needs alternate transportation or you wish to pick up your child, please make arrangements with the school office. These arrangements must be received before 12 noon.

Non-Public School Information

All non-public school students residing in Pottsgrove School District who are in need of transportation must fill out the ACT 372 Request for Transportation Form prior to July 1.

If there is inclement weather, all non-public/parochial/private schools will follow the Pottsgrove schedule for busing, regardless of their individual opening status since our roads have been deemed unsafe to drive and our students at these schools live within our bounds.
