The Pottsgrove School District offers a district-sponsored cyber school option to students in grades 6-12.

We understand that for some learners and their families a cyber option may be a viable choice. When compared to other cyber options we believe our partnership with Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) provides a more comprehensive program – including more educational options, and more support services to students residing in our district.

Some of the benefits of our BVA cyber option:

    • Students in the Brandywine Virtual Academy program are Pottsgrove students and will have access to library and guidance services and all of the student activities that the Pottsgrove School District makes available to its traditional students.
    •  Pottsgrove School District students in the Brandywine Virtual Academy program who meet all graduation requirements receive a Pottsgrove School District diploma.
    • Hybrid learning options allow our students to take some of their courses at school and some online.
    • The Pottsgrove School District ensures that the educational program and the curriculum meet the district’s and the PA Department of Education’s standards.
    • Students engage in a Pennsylvania Department of Education-approved curriculum taught by Pennsylvania-certified,highly-qualified teachers employed by the Brandywine Virtual Academy.
Be cautious however, cyber education is not a good fit for every student and their family. Parents considering a full time cyber option for your child must weigh their increased time requirements. You may find this EdWeek article helpful as you consider your options.
Our school counselors are available and happy to answer questions and discuss honestly the challenges, limitations, and benefits of cyber education. They are a great resource, and will assist in any way they can as you make the best choice for your child.
