Graduation Project Introduction


  • Beginning with the class of 2000, each student graduating from Pottsgrove High School will complete a project in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations and the Pottsgrove School District requirements.
     
    All sophomores will be assigned a faculty advisor in their sophomore year. This advisor will meet with the student periodically throughout the student's high school career in order to monitor the student's self-directed progress.
        
    Projects will be evaluated in a student's junior year, allowing adequate time for remediation, if necessary.

    Students in Pottsgrove School District will complete a graduation project which demonstrates their ability to apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information and to communicate significant knowledge and understanding.
     
    This project will provide the opportunity for in-depth learning of a self-directed topic involving out-of-class research or community service, an oral/written component, and a project presentation.
     
    Students will meet with their faculty advisors periodically throughout their high school career. All meetings will be held during an Activity Period time schedule unless otherwise announced. The 2013-2014 tentative meeting dates are coming soon.
