Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Brett Mazzerle

I have been teaching Social Studies at Pottsgrove since 2003.  The current courses that I teach are academic level Civics and the elective course Modern World Conflict.

Topics studied in Civics include citizenship, branches of government, political systems, federal, state, and local government, economics, and political parties. Students will become familiar with governing documents like the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  Current news topics will be explored that provide examples of civics in action.

Modern World Conflict:

Modern World Conflict provides students with the opportunity to explore current global conflict, the historical roots of that conflict, and the role that the United States government plays in the existence and resolution of the conflict. The course will encourage and challenge students to think globally and to consider multiple points of view.
