Mrs. Danielle Small

Mrs. Small graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 1997, and continued her education at Kutztown University where she graduated in December of 2002 with a Bachelor's of English in Secondary Education. In March 2003, Danielle was then hired by Pottsgrove High School as a long-term substitute teaching 10th grade English. Danielle was given a contract soon after. Danielle taught English to 9th and 10th graders for five years and loved every minute of it. Teaching literature and sentence structure was some of her favorite things to teach, but relating the classic novels to modern day students was her passion. She went on to receive a Masters' Degree in Library Science at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and was hired as Library Media Specialist in 2007. The library is the hub of the school.  It is a 21st Century learning environment and is always full of students hustling in and out.  The Pottsgrove High School is a 1:1 school; each of our students have their own MACBook Air laptop.  The library facility has a makerspace and a breakerspace and is a community of learning and creating.  The library's print and online collections are developed to supplement each and every curriculum and course at Pottsgrove High School.  Danielle has also been the Pottsgrovian Yearbook Advisor for many years and enjoys the creative outlet it brings. She also leads the Reading Olympics group and takes them to competition each year.  Mrs. Small took on the role as Health and Wellness Champion during the 2020 school year, and has promised to help initiate and focus on making a positive impact on health and wellness overall at the high school, as well as, to unite people through the common goal of preventing obesity and disease, promoting a better quality of life and living longer.
