Mr. Thomas C. Bailey, Jr.

Hello!  My name is Tom Bailey.  I started my Pottsgrove Educational Experience/Career in 1972 at West Pottsgrove Elementary School as a kindergartner.  I graduated from Pottsgrove in 1985.  I then went to MCCC and then West Chester University and received my degree in Mathematics Education as an Honors Graduate (Magna Cum Laude).  I student taught in 1991 with Mr. Allen Reed at the former Pottsgrove Intermediate School and later with Mrs. Eschbach at Pottsgrove High School.  Both of whom are now retired from Pottsgrove. My first job was a part-time job at the High School.  The following year, 1992 I started on Team 7-1 in Math.  I taught 10 years in 7th grade and have been in 8th grade for the last 21 years.  I can express almost the same sentiments as Lou Gehrig, "I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth!"  I don't believe in luck. I am the most BLESSED man on the face of the earth being able to teach at my alma mater.  I am very excited about teaching Pre-Algebra from Pearson publishing this school year (2022-2023).

I am married to my HS sweetheart, Karen, another Pottsgrove graduate.  We will be celebrating our 31st Anniversay on 11/9/22! She is a saint! Karen has been in the nursing field since 1989 and has been an RN First Assistant in the operating room since 1993.  My daughter, Morgan, is now a graduate from Eastern University majoring in Media and Communications.  She has recently moved to Kentucky to be with her husband, Aaron and his son, Blake. I also have another grandson named Sampson who will be 14 months old on 8/28/22. Also, the Bailey family is praising God! My daughter, Morgan will be having another baby in March of 2023.  My son, Zachary is a graduate of Temple University majoring in Sports Journalism.  I have a Bernese Mountain dog named Roxy, and an orange and yellow tabby cat named Princess as well as a black and white persian cat named Sylvester.  I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a teacher in the Pottsgrove School District.  I have also coached 7th & 8th grade Football, 7th & 8th grade Girl's Basketball and 7th & 8th grade Girl's Softball and 7th & 8th grade Baseball in my 31 year career.  I have also have had the pleasure of being the "Voice of The Falcons" at every Friday night Football home game!!!  I bleed Maroon and White!!!  GO GROVE!!!
