    Attention all art students,

    Want to get more involved in art?

    Interested in opportunities for national recognition, art competitions, and art scholarships?

    Join National Art Honor Society, a nationwide organization for high school art students interested in pursuing their highest potential in all forms of art. Here at Pottsgrove, we help plan and participate in art-related events throughout the school year. Anyone interested in joining should pick up an application from any of the art rooms. Applications are due October 31st.

    In order to celebrate the first day of Health & Wellness Week, we are having a salad party in the library on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019 during lunches!

     

    In order to attend a salad luncheon, you MUST sign up on schoology and BRING something to the luncheon.  Everyone in attendance must bring at least one ingredient to their lunch. We are capping the party at 30 students! So first come, first serve!

    Are you taking part in the Give Back Program and need volunteer hours? Are you a member of NHS and need volunteer hours? Do you need volunteer hours for a Scout project? I have the PERFECT opportunity for you! 

    Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Nolde Forest outside of Reading (approximately 20 minutes from PGHS) is hosting a Day of the Dead celebration and are in need of volunteers for as much time as you can give them. They are in need of volunteers from 2PM to 8PM HOWEVER, you need not volunteer for the entire time.

    There will be food trucks, dance performances, and educational stations. You need not speak Spanish nor know ANYTHING about Day of the Dead. We just need helping hands.

    The window to enroll for AP Testing is Monday, October 21-November 1, 2019 to purchase the May 2020 exam for AP.


    Families will be able to purchase exams through the AP Store on the MySchoolBucks account or in the Guidance Office with cash or check payable to Pottsgrove High School.  Information and paper registration forms are available in your AP classroom, on Schoology post, and in Guidance.

    LGBT History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. Today's focus is on EDIE WINDSOR: 

    Edie Windsor was an American LGBT rights activist and a technology manager at IBM. She was the lead plaintiff in the 2013 Supreme Court of the United States case United States v. Windsor, which overturned Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act and was considered a landmark legal victory for the same-sex marriage movement in the United States.
