Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors encourages the use of parent and community volunteers to support the educational programs of the School District.
Necessary Forms for Volunteers are available by clicking on the links listed below. Completed forms should be returned to any of the 5 district school buildings. They will then be entered into a District-wide shared database. Volunteers only need to complete one set of forms regardless of the number of children in the District. Clearances must be less than 1 year old when submitted. Once on file they are valid for five years.
Volunteer clearances must be less than 1 year old when they are initially submitted. Once submitted, they are good for 5 years. Many parent volunteers are approaching the time their clearances will expire. New clearances are due by the first day of the month in which the oldest clearances were issued. For example, if your ACT 151 Child Abuse is from January 2015 and your ACT 34 PA Criminal check is from February 2015, ALL clearances must be renewed prior to January 1, 2020.
When submitting your new or updated clearances, you only need to submit them to one school and they will be updated in the District database.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL CLEARANCES AND SUBMIT A COPY TO THE DISTRICT. YOU WILL NEED YOUR ORIGINAL CLEARANCES FOR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS PTA, BOYS/GIRLS SCOUTS, YOUTH COACHING ETC. THE DISTRICT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE YOU COPIES OF YOUR CLEARANCES ONCE SUBMITTED.

The following are required by Pennsylvania state law:
- Pennsylvania State Background Check Clearance
- Bring the PA State Background Check Clearance print-out reading "No Record" to the school, where a copy will be made.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Bring the original PA Child Abuse History Clearance form where a copy will be made
- Arrest / Conviction Report and Certification Form
- Bring completed form to school
